About
Alex Carroll
For
30 year old Alex Carroll, the battle against traffic tickets began
more than ten years ago when he took his first job as a courier
driver. During his four years of courier driving he accumulated
a total of 10 moving violations. Most were radar speeding tickets,
although a few others were thrown in for good
measure.
The
company he worked for at the time allowed their drivers one ticket...
anything over that and they got canned.
So, as is often the case, necessity was the mother of invention.
Carroll had two choices: beat his tickets or lose his job. Much
to his surprise (and everyone else's), he somehow managed to beat
8 of his 10 tickets.
It is from this experience that Beat The Cops was
born.
Since writing Beat The Cops, Carroll has become
a vocal opponent of speed traps, insurance surcharges, ridiculous
speed limits, unfair tickets and highway robbery everywhere. In
fact, if you haven't heard him by now, either you don't have a
radio or you rarely listen to it. He has been interviewed by more
than 1,000 radio hosts on four continents and sold well over 100,000
copies of his bestselling book.
He was a leading spokesperson for the National Motorists Association
during their successful campaign to repeal the 55 MPH speed limit
and was also California Chapter Coordinator of the NMA for several
years.
He has been single-handedly responsible for getting photo-radar
kicked out of several cities across the country and continues
to be an outspoken opponent of photo traffic enforcement.
Many others have since copied and imitated Carroll's Beat
The Cops, but none have matched the easy to read, comprehensive,
straight to the point bestseller.
Perhaps most telling are the enormous quantities of letters Carroll
receives from readers thanking him for saving them small fortunes.
